Botshabelo - A Place of Refuge

Botshabelo is based in Midrand, South Africa and is situated on the 20 acre property of 64 on Main, where the Childrens Home, Early Childhood Development program and offices are located. This base serves as the center of excellence providing critical support and resources for our work into the surrounding communities and the community of Olievenhoutbosch. Our Early Childhood Development Progamme aims at providing excellent quality education for children no matter their socio-economic status as well as a solid foundation for further schooling. This program consists of the Urban Kids preschool and the teacher-training program.

We celebrate with the twins this week - they have gone to be with their new Mom and Dad!!!

What a joy it is to see adoptions taking place, and to see how the twins in our home, who have been with us for a few months, have now moved on into a home full of love, joy and of course a Mom and Dad - we couldn't be happier for them!!!

Deloitte Impact Day

Deloitte hosted a fun day for around 800 children from the Philena Primary School at the iKya property. There was the sounds of childrens laughter and shouting all morning as they enjoyed the different activity stations. There were 10 jumping castles, a craft station, ball games and a dance station. The morning was very well organized with children in groups moving between the stations and all getting a chance to enjoy the different activities on offer.

New Home of Destiny!

We have opened a home for our older children! Christine Dettman is the Housemother and we have moved the first two children, Lesedi and Zizi in with her. It is quite a challenge and a lot of adjusting is going on at present for all concerned! It is wonderful to see how these two little ones are already blossoming and growing in confidence after only a few weeks in a "normal" home!
