In the Babies Home our heart is to provide a loving, caring, homely environment to children that have been abandoned, neglected or given up for adoption. We aim to address each child’s needs  and give them the best start in life! Over 140 children have been cared for in the Babies Home over the years and we typically have 12 – 15 children at any one time in the home.

Urban Kids Educentre is a vibrant, happy and fully functioning preschool. It runs on the property of 64 on Main, and caters to families living in the surrounding communities. Urban Kids aims to offer equal education for all – ensuring that no matter a child’s socio-economic status they can receive a great quality preschool education, setting them up for success in the years to come.

The UpliftED Teacher Training programme aims to support and empower preschools in impoverished communities. This programme offers training to preschool teachers, empowering them to give the best education to their pupils. Many of these trainees have little to no knowledge in Early Childhood Development and are in desperate need of some help and educational equipment.

About Us

Botshabelo was born, 14 years ago, out of a burning passion for the community and its desperate need for a place of safety, support and resources. The Babies Home, Urban Kids Educentre and offices are located on the 20 acre property of 64 on Main, Midrand. From this base we serve the community of Olievenhoutbosch and surrounds through our Early Childhood Development programme. Botshabelo is passionate about transforming children’s lives through excellent education and residential care.
