Over the years, Botshabelo has welcomed many international & local volunteers. Volunteers are invaluable as they
assist us in giving individualised care and attention to each child. THANK YOU!
Local volunteers are a great asset to us and we value your interest in becoming a volunteer at Botshabelo.
Local volunteers to the Babies Home join us weekly at a regular, allotted time and play with the children, help the caregivers with feeding times and so forth. This consistency helps us ensure security and stability in the home. Volunteers (over 18 years old) go through the application & screening process and meet with our Babies Home Manager. Volunteers between 14-18 years old, contact us to do your community service. Find out more or get involved
Volunteers are also needed in our Urban Kids Educentre and UpliftED Training Programme. Perhaps you have a certain set of skills, or expertise. Offering your time and skills to the Botshabelo programmes is another form of volunteering. For example, play therapy, construction help, design work and more can be of great assistance to us because many of these types of services are very costly.
“We make a living by what we get,
but we make a life by what we give.”
International volunteers have joined us from Brazil, United States, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, England, Scotland, Australia and more.
Whether in our Babies Home, Urban Kids Educentre and/or UpliftED Training Programme, international volunteers are invaluable! We truly value the sacrifice it takes to come out, be away from friends and family, work shifts, and love our children. Volunteers form an integral part of our day to day running. While we offer accommodation, the rest of the costs are carried by the volunteers themselves.
