Our heart for Zimbabwe
Submitted by Admin on Tue, 2009/03/24 - 9:47am.Botshabelo longs to see Zimbabwe restored through the love of God. We have made every effort to peacefully assist the people of Zimbabwe through relationship and resource support. Botshabelo does not support the 'liberation' of Zimbabwe through any 'arms struggle' or the taking up of arms to resolve the crisis in Zimbabwe. Please partner with us as we pray for the leaders and the people of Zimbabwe. May God's kingdom be established in Zimbabwe!

Submitted by Admin on Tue, 2007/09/11 - 1:01pm.After seeing and hearing about foster care and knowing children who need parents, Botshabelo decided to host a Foster Care Workshop in July.
The foster care workshop covered many topics in order to bring awareness. The topics included; legal issues, the differences between respite care and permanent foster care, training opportunities and support groups.
There are many options and choices available for families interested in welcoming a child into their home on a permanent or short term basis.
Playschool-Building SOLID Foundations
Submitted by Admin on Tue, 2007/09/11 - 12:56pm.Last year while visiting the Botshabelo children in their home, I had an idea to set up a “playschool” for them. Something that would add to the already rich and solid foundation being built into their lives. A place “away” from their home where they could have educational play, learn life skills and use their senses to learn about their world.
A Note from Busi
Submitted by Admin on Tue, 2007/09/11 - 12:39pm.Since I have been working at Botshabelo my life has changed in many ways.
Firstly, like an infant, allowing others to speak into my life has helped me to grow.
Secondly, my love to take care of the children in the Babies Home has made me stretch out my heart. Lastly, interpersonal skills has helped me relate and mix with people without being afraid of humiliation. I am encouraged when using my creativity; to bring out joy and peace into the lives of the children.

Breakfast Time!
Submitted by Admin on Tue, 2007/09/11 - 12:30pm.We were recently blessed with a fully-catered breakfast for 40 people donated by Curious Pictures. For the occasion we invited everyone we could think of, combining Botshabelo and Covenant Life Church staff. The caterers were very late, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it gave us all a wonderful opportunity to socialize (not about work!). Talking turned into singing and dancing. Those we formerly thought to be shy and reserved broke out, leading us all in impressive dance moves!

Submitted by Admin on Tue, 2007/09/11 - 12:25pm.Patrick and Anna Ndlovu opened their home in Ivory Park when they invited the International Volunteers to experience a meal and hospitality in true South African fashion. Unfortunately Mopani worms were not in season but the the volunteers didn’t seem to mind too much. A good time was had by all!
