Kati Tillema - An Overflowing Heart
When I decided to "give up" my summer vacation from school back in the states to come to Botshabelo, I never felt as though I was sacrificing anything. I trusted God for sending me, and that, therefore, He would be bountiful in the blessings He poured out on me... and then I arrived, and those blessings were more than I could possibly have imagined.
For me Bothshabelo lives up to its meaning, "place of refuge" in the relationships I found there. I had no expectations for the place, what I would be doing, or for myself as I stepped out in faith to do the work He called me to do. The humbleness that God graced me with allowed me to soak up and be wrapped in the lessons, love and beautiful personalities which the children and adults alike at Botshabelo possess.
I've never felt so whole and necessary and full of God's purpose in my life as when I left to return home. My heart is still overflowing with those feelings and I know I will carry them with me for the rest of my life, along with the the relationships I was able to foster, and I hope and trust that God will work in me to pass on those gifts to others.
