Botshabelo Babies Home
Botshabelo Babies Home opened in March 2000 in response to the plight of babies being abandoned in hospitals or left to die due to poverty and HIV.
Our heart has always been to provide a loving, caring, homely environment. We aim to address each child’s needs and enable them to grow to their full potential, spiritually, physically, intellectually and emotionally. Over 100 children have been cared for in the Babies Home over the years and we typically 12- 15 chidren at any one time in the home.
Long term, we actively try to get every child in a family, either through reunification, fostering or adoption. We aim to support these families through a support group for foster and adoptive parents. In the future we would love to have a fund available to provide material assistance to both biological or foster families to ensure that the placements are sucessful and the chidren are able to access any additonal support services that they may need such as Occupational Therapy, Attachment Therapy or special needs schooling.
For those who cannot be placed we have opened a new "Home of Destiny" in September 2010, where our older children can grow up with a housemother and have all the benefits of a normal family life.
