In October 2013, we started a Second Hand Shop. We would sell items out of bins several afternoons a week. Many shoppers visited, often ladies who would buy in bulk and resell into their communities, micro-entrepreneurs. Well, with continuing demand, in 2014 we broke ground for our first building. Throughout the years, our Charity shop became well known even across the borders of Midrand for great bargains on used items from clothing of all sizes to household items and furniture. We also became known as a charity were you can donate second-hand items to make a difference in the lives of children. You can bring donations of used items throughout the week and know we will put them to good use.
An increase in donations as well as the rising demand from the community has led to the decision to create a proper shop and add extra space. During the last couple of weeks we have been renovating. Botshabelo’s second hand shop now has more than 100sqm that need to be filled with old clothing (all sizes), shoes, books, puzzles, toys and even furniture. The money generated from the shop is going directly to Botshabelo’s three programmes: Babies Home, Urban Kids Preschool and UpliftED Teacher Training.
Why not join us and add value to our community by donating and helping us fill the shop space. You can drop off your donation during our office hours Mo-Fr 8-15 or leave them in our donation bins outside our office.
