Celebrations at Botshabelo are always a BIG DEAL! And Saturday 28th October was a BIG CELEBRATION! It was graduation day for 36 Olievenhoutbosh preschool teachers and principals. These women finished a full year of training, meeting weekly, doing homework, and passing biweekly assessment sessions (in addition to running their classrooms FULL of children). So there was MUCH to celebrate.
UpliftED Director, Andy Clark, hosted the graduation ceremony, starting off the morning with a rousing call to the graduates and her international team of trainers to celebrate their hardwork and exceptional results.
“These women are nation builders. They not only care for their childrens’ daily needs, they drive their learning and development to ensure each child begins school equal to or ahead of their peers.”
Graduates danced and sang their way through the ceremony, in front of a proud audience of family and friends. The day finished with a feast of party food and a cake as big as the smiles on the graduate’s faces.
Here’s what the UpliftED Team is celebrating in 2017:
- Partnership with 13 creches, uplifting them into quality Early Learning Centres
- Over 3 600 hours of Monitoring and Evaluation for effective transfer of learning
- Boxes of duplo, books, puzzles, and more to each classroom (over R100 000 worth)
- Seven renovations for safer and more appropriate learning facilities.
Hope on over here to see how our Outlying Training went this year.
