The UplliftED Training Programme began with a heart to uplift the education, or lack thereof, in the creches of Olievenhoutbosch – an impoverished community. In our 4 years, our greatest joy is to see the light go on in the eyes of our trainees as they build pride in their work and discover honour in their career path. Their joy spills over into the hearts and minds of the young students in their classrooms and throughout their schools.
Our BIG word, and BIG announcement for 2016 is that we are ACCREDITED! It will be the first year UpliftED trainees will come out with an NQF Level 4 certificate!!! It has been a demanding 4-year journey to set up a successful program with effective monitoring/evaluation practices, with the ongoing help of AVI (Australian Volunteer International). Now, with the sponsorship of CGS, UpliftED is excited to launch our ACCREDITED training program. This means that the trainees will now receive an accredited certificate in Early Childhood Education.
Our 16 participants start the year, jumping into theory and practical skills development with the help of our dedicated team of trainers. With hands-on segments to each session, they practice skills acquisition to organise lesson plans, make materials, and set up engaging experiences for their pupils. With bi-weekly monitoring and evaluation sessions, they demonstrate their learning to trainers in their own classroom settings, gaining the guidance of our team of seasoned teachers regarding the struggles in the trainees’ own settings. With ongoing formal and informal assessments, we help them on the road to their personal certification.

Sponsorships of educational equipment and trainers salaries will be a huge help. Added to this, there is now the opportunity to sponsor a trainee through her certification journey – there are minimal costs in printing files and fulfilling the course requirements, but many of the trainees cannot afford this. You could be involved in helping them reach their educational goals!
